The Right Size

Today I felt a little burst of excitement
when a long skinny box arrived at our door.
I had ordered a couple of things online,
but nothing of that size or shape.

"What could it be?!" I wondered

However, when I opened it, I realized that it
was the reflective harness I ordered for Atlas.
Guess the packager just ran out of small boxes.

Halloween Start

This year we are not holding back at all when it comes to Halloween.
As kids, my brother and I used to start prepping
for Halloween months in advance
(because everybody knows it is the best holiday!)
So even though it is still pretty far away,
today we took out the construction paper,
markers, crayons, and glue and started decorating in anticipation.
This one one of our creations: Orin's favorite
Super Scary Monster Mask!

Scargo Tower

Last night Colleen and I took the kids to Scargo tower
to watch the sun set over Cape Cod Bay.

With his chicks

Yesterday, Orin informed me that he was hatching 10
baby bluebirds out of his laundry basket nest.
He was a very diligent bird parent
and apparently all of the chicks have hatched
and are doing well.

Ahhhh... sunshine

Group Bike Trip

The other day Colleen and I took the kids to the Cape Cod Rail Trail
The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time...
especially because after the bike ride we stopped at the
Cape Cod Creamery for icecream.

MassMoCA

Our last day in Williamstown we spent at MassMoCA,
a museum created within an abandoned factory complex.
The old factories have enormous ceilings and interesting architecture
which works to emphasize the art and
gives artists a great deal of space to work with.
There are often pieces that take up entire rooms.
This was actually one of the smaller ones, but I liked the picture.
